Limited Reopening Beginning Tuesday, May 26th by Appointment Only!

After two months closed, to do our part in “flattening the curve,” we are excited to announce that on Tuesday, May 26th we will begin a limited reopening of The Rock.

Limited Hours: 2 PM to 6:15 PM by Appointment Only

We will be open by appointment only between 2 to 6:15 PM. We are offering art classes, music lessons and classes, individual rehearsal spaces, individual recording time and discussion groups. We have established guidelines to reduce the risk of infections, including:

  • Social Distancing: We are moving all activities into larger spaces and limiting classes sizes in order to allow 6’ distance between people.
  • Disinfecting: All rooms and equipment will be disinfected after use. All bathrooms, door handles and touch points will be disinfected on an hourly basis.
  • Currently, the teen room is open by appointment only. In order to be at The Rock, you must have an appointment for a specific class, lesson or activity.
  • All teens are required to have a completed an updated Liability Waiver, signed by a legal guardian in order to be admitted inside The Rock. You can find that waiver here or fill one out when you arrive.
  • If you do not have an appointment made in advance, you will not be allowed inside.
  • Parents will not be allowed to wait inside The Rock while their teen attends their appointment.
  • We are asking all teens and their families to be understanding of our new guidelines. We know this is different, and while we desire normal, your well-being is of paramount importance to us.
  • As we continue through these unprecedented times, we will continue to reevaluate our procedures and guidelines.

We want everyone to take the precautions that they feel are necessary. We encourage everyone to wear masks and to wear gloves, but they are not required. We will continue to offer online music and dance lessons through the end of May, please call (602) 522-9200 to sign-up.

To sign up for a class or lesson, please call (602) 522-9200 or email info@alicecoopersolidrock.com  Because of these changes, our capacity is severely limited. If there is no more space available in your desired class or lesson, we will put you on a waiting list and contact when space becomes available.

  • Song Writing – Song Writing will be offered on Mondays at 4pm with Austin Moore. David Simmons’ class will continue online.
  • Music Lessons – One-on-one Guitar, Bass, Drum, Piano and Vocal lessons are available. Previously scheduled music lessons will have priority over new lessons. If you had a previously scheduled lesson, please contact your instructor about re-booking your lesson
  • Studio Time – Limited studio time is available for individual recordings (no bands, just single performers)
  • Art – The art studio will be open for guided art projects.
  • Dance – We will not be having in-person dance classes at this time, but we do have online classes available. Call the Dance Director Hodgie Jo at 602-770-5567 to learn more about the online classes.
  • Discussion Group – Time to hang out in the teen room. With groups up to 6 teens.

At The Rock, teens discover a safe place to express their emotions through the art of dance. Dance instruction is an ideal outlet for young people with signs of low self-esteem and stress. These are teens that may never have the opportunity to take dance lessons elsewhere, but appreciate an outlet to dance, make new friends and enjoy improved physical fitness along with the fun.

At Spanky’s Recording Studio we teach the art and science of audio recording to interested teens, complete with a Toft ATB 32 mixing console as well as a 32 input Pro Tools HD recording system. Classes include hands on recording lessons with industry professionals.   The students learn audio fundamentals from microphone selection and placement, to audio signal flow, to mixing console operation, as well as the ins and outs and function of the industry standard Pro Tools recording software. Engineer Mike Bolenbach presents a very fun and hands on approach to learning how to navigate the studio and make good sounding recordings. The principles learned at Spanky’s will have real world applications for teens interested in pursuing audio in any capacity.
